It is time for the City to review its Town Centre Parking Precinct Plan and we invite you to provide your feedback.

After widespread community engagement the current Town Centre Parking Precinct Plan was endorsed by Council in October 2018. Since then parking controls throughout the Town Centre Parking Precinct have been largely effective, however further refinements are proposed to adapt to the changes in the area.

The town centre precinct is the area bound by Salvado Road to the north, Station Street, Railway and Roberts Roads to the west, Townshend Road to the east and Bagot Road to the south (see map).

The draft 2023 Town Centre Parking Precinct Plan (can be viewed in the document library) has been developed to provide a clear, consistent, sustainable and contemporary parking control model that is appropriate for the locality, empathetic towards the needs of the community and in line with City principles.

Proposed refinements include:

  • Removal of weekend and evening restrictions remaining from the last Town Centre Precinct review to achieve consistency across the City.
  • Implementation of paid parking stations on Churchill Avenue and Barker Road.
  • Increasing parking in Subiaco Square from 30 minutes to one hour.
  • Parking bays carrying a 5 minute time restriction will be replaced with a 15 minute restriction, creating a more reasonable parking window.
  • Installing additional loading bays in Station and Alvan streets.
  • Changes to parking near KEMH to prioritise parking on streets closest the hospital for patients and visitors.

Invitation to provide feedback

Residents, workers, visitors and businesses are invited to provide feedback on the proposed alterations to parking controls in Subiaco's town centre precinct in the City's Town Centre Parking Precinct Plan.

The plan is open for community consultation from Friday 14 July until 5pm Sunday 13 August 2023.

You can provide your comments via the online survey.
