Consultation for this project has concluded.
The planter boxes in the Rokeby Road median were installed as part of the Rokeby Road streetscape upgrade in 2016.
At the December 2021 meeting, Council resolved to trial a reskinning of the existing planter boxes with historic photographs of Subiaco. It was also resolved to seek public opinion about the trial and possibly extend the photograph motif the entire length of Rokeby Road.
The City then sought feedbackon the future treatment of the Rokeby Road median strip.
An online community survey was open for a period of four months between Tuesday 19 July 2022 and Monday 21 November 2022.
Next steps
A report of the consultation outcome was submitted to Elected Members in November 2022. The report showed exploring future treatment options for the median tree roots was the preferred way forward.
The survey results showed the new historic photograph skins were preferred over the the old colourful geometric skins. During the consultation period Council had already resolved to complete the historic photograph wrapping of the planter boxes for the entirety of the Rokeby Road. This is now in place.
