Project update - April 2024
Further to the public consultation that was carried out in June and July 2024, the locations of the various traffic calming measures have been finalised and approved by Main Roads WA. The raised plateaus, flush entry statements, mini-roundabout and wombat crossings, as shown in this letter of notification, will be surfaced with red asphalt.
Please note: the design for the proposed Station Street wombat crossing (between Coles and Subiaco Square/Woolworths) is being finalised with aim for installation in Spring 2025.
Subject to favourable weather conditions, the asphalt works are scheduled to be carried out as night-works between Monday 12 May and Sunday 18 May 2025 from 7pm to 6am. This is intended to avoid extensive traffic management, delays and detours. Works involving asphalt profiling will be carried out with a small profiling machine to minimise noise and vibration. The planned works schedule is as follows:
- Monday night 12/05/25 – Asphalt profiling – All asphalt layer removal works at Subiaco Rd, Hamilton St and Coghlan Rd completed.
- Tuesday night 13/05/25 – Asphalt profiling – for all Speed Plateaus and wombat crossings for the Station Precinct works.
- Tuesday night – 13/05/25 – Asphalt works – Lay new asphalt works at Subiaco Rd, Hamilton St and Coghlan Rd.
- Wednesday night – 14/05/25 – Asphalt works – First phase for all plateaus and wombat crossings on the Station Precinct works.
- Thursday night – 15/05/25 – Asphalt – Second phase for all plateaus and wombat crossings on the Station Precinct works.
- Friday night – 16/05/25 – Asphalt profiling – Asphalt removal at intersections for the full entry statements under the Station Precinct works.
- Sunday night – 18/05/25 – New asphalt - All full entry statements
Traffic management will be implemented with accredited traffic controllers directing traffic as required. This will include part-road closures with detours in the work area to facilitate safe delivery and laying of asphalt. The work-site area will be barricaded or coned-off to prevent vehicles being parked too close to the worksite and risk damage from the works. Owners of vehicles that are parked in the way of the works will be instructed to move their vehicles if necessary.
While these works are in progress, it is likely that vehicle access to the road and properties next to the worksite will be restricted. We recommend you find alternative parking during this time.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this period. If you have any queries regarding this work, please contact Farideh Arastoo on 08 9387 0939 between 8.30am and 3.30pm, Monday to Friday.
For any immediate concerns and queries during the works itself, please contact Jovan Drasko (Project Engineer - Fulton Hogan) on 0436 009 527.

Thank you for your contribution!
