Consultation has concluded

The City of Subiaco is commencing a staged review of parking management across the city, and is seeking community feedback starting with the Subiaco East Precinct. The purpose of the review is to balance the different needs of all users in an area while proactively responding to recent or upcoming changes in the precinct.

The proposed Subiaco East Precinct parking management plan has been developed to support the requirements of residents, local businesses and visitors in the area bound by Railway Parade and Thomas Street to the north and east and Bagot Road and Townshend Road to the south and west. Review of this area is timely given the significant and imminent changes about to occur in the area, including the conclusion of AFL football at Subiaco Oval and relocation of Princess Margaret Hospital.

The core objectives of the management review are to:

  • balance the needs of all users of the precinct
  • open up parking on weekends to increase visitation
  • encourage regular turn over of parking adjacent to retail, hospitality and professional services
  • minimise confusion about parking restrictions by improving the consistency of parking across the city.

In order to achieve these outcomes, the proposed parking management plan includes:

  • designated resident only parking areas
  • increased all day parking
  • introducing a parking ticket system in commerical zones to maximise parking space usage
  • standardising parking restrictions across the precinct
  • the removal of parking restrictions on weekends.

The purpose of this consultation is to inform the community of proposed changes and give you with the opportunity to provide feedback. We encourage you to download and view the parking management plan as well as the additional information sheet that outlines the core changes.

As these changes will affect individual users differently, we have developed two separate surveys for residents and business owners and staff. Please complete the survey that is most relevant to you. You can also lodge a written submission or complete a printed copy of the survey at the city's Administration Centre at 241 Rokeby Road, Subiaco.

The comment period closed at 5pm on Monday 6 November 2017.

All feedback was reviewed and collated and a report was submitted to the Ordinary Council Meeting on 28 November 2017. Read more in the Council Minutes here.

The Car Park Occupancy Report was submitted to the Ordinary Council Meeting on 16 October 2018. Read more in the Council Minutes here.
