Comment on the concept options for Seddon Street Public Realm upgrade

At the City of Subiaco we encourage community involvement to help inform our decision making and we invited the community to participate in consultation for the Seddon Street Public Realm Upgrade.

About the project

Seddon Street is currently used as a vehicular access way to a number of lots fronting Rokeby Road, Roberts Road and Hay Street. Seddon Street is a key node in the town centre as it directly abuts Rokeby Road and facilitates pedestrian and vehicular movement through the wider precinct. Seddon Street currently contains a two way road, pedestrian footpath, on-street car parking, Western Power electrical infrastructure and verge trees.

Extensive public engagement for the City of Subiaco Place Plan 2019-2022 showed that the community wants more:

  • Places to sit and connect
  • Playful moments
  • Activation and vibrancy in the town centre.

The City of Subiaco is committed to implementing this feedback through the Seddon Street Public Realm Upgrade.

This project will see Seddon Street transformed into a pedestrian friendly shared space for the community in Subiaco. The upgrade will address the broader precinct, connect key facets of the town centre and provide a welcoming meeting place for the community.

The Seddon Street public realm upgrade was completed in October 2023, with the space formally opened to the public on Saturday 7 October 2023.

How can I be involved?

The community survey for this project closed in September 2021.

You can still view the concept options in the photos section of the page. Please note: the 'No Trees' plan views are shown without trees for clarity, but verge trees will be included in the final design.
