385 Rokeby Road - SDAU application approved

In 2020, in part in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) was granted temporary decision-making powers to determine proposals over $20 million in metropolitan Perth.

The State Development Assessment Unit (SDAU) is a dedicated team supporting the WAPC with the lodgement and assessment of development applications, including consultation on these projects.

The City received a formal referral in January from the SDAU for an application for a six-story mixed-use development containing 37 multiple dwellings and two commercial tenancies at 385 Rokeby Road.

In March, the proposal was assessed with regard to the planning framework and was not supported by Council.

The SDAU have now approved the application with some conditions in place.
