Art in Subiaco needs to be usable

I love the amount of art being installed. One main problem with Rokeby Rd is the deficit of seats - made obvious during the street party when heaps of people struggle with environmentally soft plates to eat hot food. The City could put more temp seats but arty ones would be good. the photo is one seat I saw in Indonesia, the second shows the use of art and how tourists photograph it.

There is a large blank wall in the lane behind 18-20 Churchill Ave. It would make a fantastic site for a tree forest as there are no trees or greenery in the lane! Thanks, Helen

Local Artists

I love the artwork around Subiaco in general. The work done during the "Paint Subi" project was excellent but I wish that local artists had been given the opportunity to display their work. There are so many talents artists right here on our doorstep why get others in from abroad?

Bright & Bold

I really like murals that use bright colours like the Forrest St carpark and the Hay St underpass near Jolimont park. I also enjoy sculptures that are bold and somewhat abstract at first glance, that develop their own identity through the community trying to describe them e.g. the cactus in Forrest Chase in the city - not actually a cactus but that is what it looks like to the average person. Over time it is becoming a beloved landmark to many for it unusualness.
