Proposed expanded Hamersley Road Group Heritage Area

Consultation has concluded

The City of Subiaco is inviting submissions on a proposal to expand the Hamersley Road Group Heritage Area to include Numbers 282- 300 Hamersley Road, 281-283 Hamersley Road, 6 & 8 Sadlier Street and the western side of Derby Road (Numbers 1-37).

The heritage assessment has identified that the historic and social values of these places are consistent with the heritage values of the Hamersley Road Group Heritage Area and, even though cumulative changes to original finishes and detailing have diminished aesthetic values, the nature of the original development is still able to be readily understood.

Expanding the Hamersley Road Group Heritage Area will link it to the nearby Sadlier and Redfern Street Heritage Area. This will create a unified area and provide for comprehensive and effective management of heritage values and the traditional streetscape character.
