The Community Safety and Crime Prevention Plan will provide a framework for the delivery of community safety initiatives for the City of Subiaco.

The plan will be used to identify each department’s responsibilities for safety and crime prevention, guide the implementation of community education programs and safety-focused projects, and foster an approach to community safety which is embraced by both the community and the city.

The draft plan aligns closely with the focus areas contained in the city’s Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Business Plan, particularly the associated objectives and strategies. There are four main focus areas of relevance to the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Plan, which are:

    • Focus area one: Our sense of community
    • Focus area three: A unique destination
    • Focus area four: The built environment
    • Focus area five: An effective and integrated transport system

The draft plan details a number of actions that contribute to the achievement of the objectives and strategies set out in each of the main focus areas.

At its meeting on 26 November 2013, council endorsed the public advertising of the draft plan. The city is now inviting your feedback, particularly relating to the proposed actions.
