What is the most effective way to have your voice heard?
Making a submission to the City of Subiaco is the best way for you to influence future planning in Subiaco.
There are many ways to get your opinion heard in regards to the draft Local Planning Scheme No. 5 (LPS 5) and draft Local Planning Strategy (LPS). Including talking to your neighbours, attending an open day, signing a petition or contacting government officials but the most effective way to have your voice heard is by making a submission to the City of Subiaco. This can be done by completing our online surveys or directly contacting the city. For more information on how to do this please see the Have Your Say Subiaco project page. Please note: to make your submission valid you need to include your name and address.
The city will collate all submissions received, carefully consider the issues raised and make a recommendation to the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC). The WAPC then makes a recommendation to the Minister for Planning for final determination of LPS 5 and this recommendation includes all submissions received. With regard to the LPS, the WAPC is the decision maker.
You may write to the Minister for Planning or complete a petition separately but we highly encourage you to also make a submission to the city to ensure your views are taken into account by the Council and WAPC. Writing to the Minister for Planning alone will not count as a submission on the draft LPS 5 or the draft LPS.
